FOR RELEASE: July 2, 2002 GM Announces New "Summerdrive" Marketing Program 0.0% Financing is Back!
Detroit - General Motors Corp. today announced "Summerdrive," the latest of GM's simple, compelling retail marketing programs. Effective today, GM will offer customer cash or APR financing rates of up to 0.0/0.0/0.0% (36/48/60 months) for qualified buyers on the purchase of new 2002 model Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac-GMC cars and trucks through September 3. Saturn, Saab, HUMMER and all 2003 models are excluded from this program. "What a great way for GM and its dealers to kick off the summer selling season," said Bill Lovejoy, group vice president of GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. "This allows us to stay fresh in the marketplace and continue providing compelling programs to consumers. The new 'Summerdrive' program will help GM maintain its strong retail performance and continue our sales leadership with our industry leading lineup of innovative products." As with each of GM's recent marketing programs, prominent national, regional and local marketing campaigns will be used to leverage all of its vehicle divisions and GM dealers in the marketplace. The National advertising for the new program begins today, with TV spots and print ads in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
