Grand
Am makes a return visit to Daytona Beach, FL. The Grand American Rolex
Road Racing Series kicked off the 2001 season in February with its most
prestigious race - the 39th annual Rolex 24
at Daytona. The sports car circuit will wrap up its second season on
the same asphalt where it started, with the Grand-Am Finale on Sept.
13-16 at Daytona International Speedway. Among the series that are scheduled
to compete in the Grand-Am Finale at the "World Center of Racing"
are the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series, Grand-Am Cup Street Stock
Series, U.S. F2000 National Championship, American City Racing League
and the SCCA Pro Spec Racers. The two main events for the Grand-Am Finale
weekend will be the Grand-Am Cup on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 3:00 p.m. and
the Rolex Sports Car Series on Sunday, Sept. 16 at noon. The Grand-Am
Cup will be a six-hour endurance race, the 2nd
longest of the season. All other Grand-Am Cup events the year have been
three-hour events, except the season opener at Daytona which was a 24-hour
race. The Rolex Sports Car Series race on Sunday will be a three-hour
race and will be the final chance that teams can earn points toward
the season championships for all classes. * Private Suite Access * Food and Beverage Service * Infield/Paddock/Garage Area Access * Closed-Circuit Television * Reserved Parking Experience racing on another
