* Last Out the Door 1999 C5 - Gordon Chevrolet in Tampa, FL,  received the last C5 TO head out the plant door December23, 1999 which is also the LAST C5 to be SHIPPED this CENTURY! This C5 is a Black (41U) Coupe with Black (19I) Sport Seats (AQ9) interior. It is a 6-Speed (MN6) VIN Y5116233 - JOB # 016244 with the following additional options: Memory Package (AAB), Power Seats (AG2), Body Side Moldings (B84), Single Glass Top (CC3), Dual Zone A/C (CJ2), Active Handling (JL4), Base Suspension (FE1), Heads Up Display (UV6), Base Wheels (QD4), Fog Lights (T96), CD in Dash (UN0) and 12 Disc Changer (U1S).
* First Out the Door 2000 Production C5 - Went to Les Stanford Chevrolet (XC-022), in Dearborn, MI, as a C5 Black Convertible Automatic with Black Top/Black Interior (VIN Y5116234 - JOB # 016245) still sits (ALL WRAPPED UP!) inside the plant door, and will do so until the plant re-opens on January 3, 2000, when it will be shipped to Michigan

Note 1:The first completed model year 2000 C5, the first 2000 C5 was a Millennium Yellow C5 Convertible (6-speed) with Black standard seats, a Black Top and High Polish Wheels. VIN # 1G1YY32G6Y5100019 JOB # 000001 (Options included memory package, carpeted mats, body side molding, dual zone a/c, F45 suspension, Active Handling, fog lamps, in-dash CD player, HUD) This first C5 is referred to as a "lead unit" which means a vehicle that is taken out by plant employees and/or Michigan based GM executives for test and evaluation. This was the first of 21 C5s used for this program.
Note 2: VIN # 1G1YY22G5Y5100040 JOB # 000021 Torch Red Coupe with Torch Red Interior. (Options included torch red sports seats, memory package, passenger power seat, carpeted mats, body side molding, dual zone a/c, luggage shade, FE1 suspension, G92 performance axle, automatic, tilt telescopic wheel, QD4 base wheels, fog lamps, in-dash cassette, trunk mounted CD changer) The lucky dealer is Weber Chevrolet (dealer # 03-827) in St. Louis, MO.
Note 3: Japanese exports HAVE key lock cylinders in the passenger side doors. While other exports and domestic versions DO NOT.
Note 4: A large quantity  of the electronics, referred to as "on-line" processors, were deleted and/or changed when the passive key system was removed for the 2000 model.
Note 5: VIN 119656 JOB 019670 The plant began installing a passenger side air bag switch on all new 2000 C5s. The first C5 with the air bag switch was an ordered Torch Red Coupe with (AQ9) Black Sports Seats, Z51, Automatic with (G92) Performance Axle, (QF5) High Polished, Tilt Telescopic, (T96) Fog Lights, (UN0) CD Player, (T82) Twilight Sentinel shipped to University Chevrolet in Big Rapids, Michigan. The switch is located in the glove compartment and is operated with the ignition key. The indicator lamp is located on the center console near the active handling switch and the F45 selector switch (if equipped) .....Because of the addition of the switch in the glove compartment Corvette has changed the pouch for the owners manual from a zippered pouch to a non zippered pouch which closes with Velcro.

They also had to change the owners manual (2nd edition) because of this air bag change (See pages 1-24 of the new owners manual)
